    Hello,

Why does Yoast showing my Archive page in Google, Bing results instead of my homepage?

I already have my Titles & Metas > Archives set to Disabled.

But in fact Google is showing only my Archive page and I didn’t even find my homepage at all when I am searching with the Arabic name of my website, which is “???? ?????”, and it does show up in Page 2 of Google results, but like I said it only shows the Archive page, while Bing is showing both on the first page:

Unfortunately, it is impossible to say why search engines consider the archive page a better result than your homepage. It is possible that your homepage is not optimized for that keyword.

We did check your site on Google and your homepage is the first result: https://i.imgur.com/fcMevz5.png

If you’ve noindexed archive pages, then you can expect that the archive page will be removed from Google’s index soon.

Okay, though I haven’t changed my Yoast options for archives to no index just recently, I have done that since I used Yoast, which is more than months now.

In Yoast SEO 6.3, we have removed the feature to noindex subpages of archives and we have more information on this here: https://yoast.com/yoast-seo-6-3/

If you are still wanting those pages to not be indexed in Google we have instructions for how to set URLs to index/noindex at the following link: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-do-i-noindex-urls/
