Why is VAT field visible when company field is empty?

    Hi.
    VAT field should be hidden when there is no company name entered. Why all customers need to see the VAT field? It might confuse them.

    Not every business user has a company name. Sole Traders (also called Sole Proprietors) often trade under their own personal name. They can still have a valid VAT number, without having a company name.

    The VAT number field is optional by default. Customers who don’t have a VAT number can simply leave the field empty. If you want to make it clearer, you can simply change the label of that field, writing something like “if you don’t have a VAT number, you can leave this field empty“.
