Why is Photon.js not minified?

  • The file photon.js (part of the Photon feature in JetPack) is not minified. If minified, its size would be reduced by approximately 50%. Why has this been left unminified by the WordPress developers? It would seem ironic if a feature added to try to improve performance overlooked this. Is there a reason for this that I haven’t thought of?
