Why is my site connected to my WP.com account?

  • OK…I’m confused now.

    I have a self-hosted WordPress site (www.timbakerhr.com). I’ve never had a WordPress hosted site (wp.com). However, when I log into my wordpress.com account, I see my slef-hosted site there as “My Site”.

    Why is that? That doesn’t make sense to me. I didn’t think the 2 had anything to do with each other. Does it have something to do with Jetpack, and the need to be connected with the WP.com account?
