Why is my header green?

I sure wish I could attach a screenshot — 1000 words and all that.

anyhoo…

WordPress > Appearance > Customize > Header > Quick links “change header color” gives:

Row height (nope)
Border width (nope)
Border color (nope)
Text color (closer but still nope)
Row background: Color or Image (TADA!!!!!)

Except “color” does zippidy squat. I can upload an image and it inserts itself as the header background, replacing the green. But changing the color …. nada.

Anyone got anything?
