• Hi,

I understand that Google (and other search engines) should be indexing any of our “posts” with the appropriate dates. Whether that be published date or last modified date, depends on your theme/config.

In my case, I have a last modified date for my posts that show up nicely in the post themselves, but upon searching the for the posts in Google, the search engine does NOT show any date?

Just wanted to check if this is a common problem with NEW websites? I.e. my posts are only up to 7 days old, even though they are already appearing in Google search.

    Thanks for any help.

    Dean

  • We (and you) have no control over what Google shows in search results.

Thanks Joy, but it seems that my actual “posts” source code has dates printed everywhere. Equally, others using the same theme have the dates showing the search results.

There must be things we can do to assist Google in determining what’s necessary to show…

After digging into things a little more, I am thinking this is caused by Yoast SEO plugin… Contacting their team now for support.

    Thank you.
