I’ve recently switched to Depicter from RoyalSlider, and so far I’m really happy.

However, I’ve just realised on this website that when setting images from the Media Library as slide background images, Depicter is creating copies of these images in the library, and seemingly using those instead of the original images.

Why is it doing this (just wasting file space), and how can I disable it from doing this and just using the location of the original images?

Also, should Depicter be taking the value in the Alt Text field and using this in the markup?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi.

Depicter’s process involves resizing images in the editor and generating a new version with the exact size you choose. You can check the image size from the “width” and “height” fields.

However, if you repeat this process, the previously created version of the images will stay in your uploads folder. We acknowledge this and will enhance it in future updates. Unfortunately, there is no option to disable this process at the moment.

Regarding the Alt text, Depicter reads the Alt text from your media library and adds it to the final markup on your slider. Did you notice anything wrong with this process?

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

I mark this topic as a resolved one, since it has been a month since your last reply.
