  • I got a rediff email address too. It’s pretty good, no ads.

I really loooooove GMail. It is really fast, easy, a lot of memory (1 gb) and a lot of other nice features. I’ts the same for me if a machine reads my email or not… Those civil-rights&tree-huggers&animal-rights, etc etc can stay with Hotmail and its 2 MB of space… However, I am with google, nearly unlimited space, and a looot of nice features. I only hope that it will soon be PDA-friendly.
    Cheers

    Geesh….

I think it’s really silly to “hate” gmail. If you don’t want to use the service, then don’t use it. It’s as simple as that. No need to gripe about it.

I guess I don’t understand the fuss. I like my email being where my webhosting is.

Well I guess anyone who does not think our email is being read now is just plain daft. As to spooks, why do browsers have image logos loading off the vendors server? We are all being tracked anyway. It is basic net work security to understand that. If we are doing it – someone is seeing it. And if you have obscure personal interests it is best not to do them on the net at all.

I think gmail has one of the best user interfaces of any email program I’ve ever tried. Actually I think it’s the best, but I’m leaving myself open in case I remember one that I tried a long time ago and forgot about. The whole reading your mail crap is ridiculous, because there just isn’t enough time in the day to read everyone’s email, even if you wanted to sift through a million emails about stomach troubles, god’s plan for kittens, and OMGWTFBBQ. If you want no one to be able to read your email, encrypt it, and make sure the receiver knows how to keep it secure once it’s received. If you want to make extra sure, don’t send it.

I like my gmail account. I am with those who are fed up with Hotmail’s measly 2MB of space and the constant advisories Hotmail gives that the account is near to being full. Up to now at least, I just think Google.com is a great company. I like their independent approach to the things they do and the influence they are having on others in the search-engine/email industries.

    @sakamyuo :
I’m a blogger and have a right to post at my *own personal* site whatever I *personally* think is right or wrong, good or bad… I don’t tell you that posts at your site does suck and nobody need them, do I? Good ??
Basic line : If I think that that subject deserved my post, it’s enough to “gripe” about it…

If anyone is still interested (after all Gmail is EVIL, har har) I am giving away two invitations … just leave a comment with your name/e-mail address on this entry.

The reason I hate Gmail is because this thread hogs the support forum front page. Somebody kill this thread, please, and while at it, kill gmail too ??

    LOL 2fargon ??

MaxT: Yes, you absolutely can gripe about anything you want. Let me point out three things, though:
    1) You also posted it here. I don’t read your blog, but I do read these forums. Don’t post an opinion in a public place if you don’t want to hear what others think about your opinion.
    2) You have the right to your opinion. I have the right to my opinion that “hating” an email service is silly.
    3) My original comment stands. Hating an email service is silly. It’s just an email service. It’s a good product for some and not a good product for others.

    It’s only email.
Can we not leave this thread alone now please ?

Macs are just computers, Ferrari is just an expensive Fiat … but I agree this thread should die.
