• Found this plugin an hour ago and i already love it, its not over complicated with crap i dont need and is easy to use.

Although it does look like im going to have to code my own templates with custom built loop as it doesnt seem to wanna work with my theme but that shouldnt be too much of a problem.

Best of all it doesnt have dumb ass permalink like timelys all in one.

My only concern is extensions i would need such as

Facebook event import > something like this one > https://tri.be/shop/facebook-events/

    And The venue features

venue featured image/venue custom fields/venue advanced queries/events searh shortcode

Yes i know the venue items are included in the pro version but i dont need the rest of it im not planning on making any sales with this site ( if any future customers ask for it ill buy )

But if you made this options as a seperate extension and sold them i would buy quite happily.

would love to hear thoughts from the dev

I’m glad you like it! (if you want to post this as a review that would be great ?? ).

Although Pro adds booking management, it is not intended to be solely a ‘booking extension’, but rather an extension which adds a variety of advanced features, of which booking management is one. All the features are designed to have minimal impact on the UI (e.g. the tickets metabox can be hidden to reduce clutter if not needed), and also come with support.

Business and developer licenses go further: bundling selected (Business) and all (Developer) extensions for free.

The idea is that particularly ‘niche’ or UI-disruptive plug-ins can be enabled independently (and only if required), but are still available for free with the above mentioned licenses. However, particularly advanced features (such as the above mentioned shortcodes and venue features) are only available to Pro users.

I hope that explains things. (If not I blame the fact its Friday ?? ).

I understand what your saying but why would i want to buy it for features I dont need also your pro version is rather expensive not only that but its only valid for one years worth of updates not lifetime which is kinda a douche move.

Especially as you ask for different membership levels if customers want to use on more than one site. Which i shall remind you and other devs that often forget wp plugins are covered by GPL which means you have given away the right to charge for more than one use

Basically if i wanted to i could contact someone whose bought your plugin and offer them $5 to send me a copy and legally you couldn’t do much about it other than deny me support for it – But that would be a dick move on my part so i wont.

But maybe its something you should think about, if you made you plugin cheaper you would more than likely make more cash than currently yes only for the first two years granted but like most devs you will be bored by then and wanna move on to something new anyways.

and before you come back at me about gpl maybe you should check these out

    GPL Site

    Warrior forum dicsussion

    Dev Violation article

i could post loads of these but i wont

im curious on you thoughts though

Oh an i left a review

Lifetime support and updates is simply not tenable (as WooCommerce recently found out) – it would effectively be a Ponzi scheme. (To be clear, though I don’t think there’s any confusion, you can continue to use the plug-in after the license has expired. So you only need to renew your license if you require continued updates or support). Renewals are discounted.

The plug-in is GPL, however the license restraints refer to distribution, support, access to tutorials and forums. These are all entirely separate from GPL, and the pricing ranges indicate the level of support you’ll receive, as well as the various extensions that are made freely available to you. This is the same model employed by Gravity Forms.

Regarding the pricing of the plug-in, I thought long and hard about this, and I felt the current prices reflect good value for money. And I’ve had feedback which backs that up. Of course, you may disagree :).

…if you made you plugin cheaper you would more than likely make more cash than currently yes only for the first two years granted but like most devs you will be bored by then and wanna move on to something new anyways.

That’s not the case. Event Organiser is coming up to 3 years old, and Pro was launched earlier this year and I’ve got a whole host of features, and extensions (some free, some not), including Facebook integration, in the pipeline. It’s a labour of love which started with a personal project of creating a review site for Edinburgh’s comedy Fringe Festival. Though that site has never materialised, this plug-in has come a long way, and I plan for that to continue.

    Thanks for the review :).
