• Hello! We’ve just tested your new block-based checkout and found out that the new local pickup and delivery buttons at the top of the page are an awesome feature that was impossible with the classic shipping zones. But also, we cannot switch to block-based checkout completely as most of our payment methods do not support it, and it’s very poorly customizable as we cannot change it via woocommerce templates like we do in shortcode-based checkout. We do not have full control over what is displayed on the checkout page and how it is displayed, as it`s limited to the block settings. Is it possible to add a global local pickup settings feature for shortcode-based checkout too, so we could just fetch those settings from the backend and display corresponding blocks on our customizable checkout. That would be the best solution for us. Thanks in advance!

    Hello danyloliptuha

Thank you for contacting Woo support.

We can configure the local pick option by using the legacy checkout option (shortcode checkout).
Please refer to this guide for more details.

You will find all the steps with screenshots.
If you still need any assistance, feel free to contact me. ??

    Best regards.

You are referring to the local pickup in the shipping zone, which is not what I want. Local pickup in block-based checkout is editable from one place and does not need to be duplicated in every shipping zone. Also, it provides the ability to choose local pickup at the top of the page without needing to provide a shipping address; local pickup in shipping zones requires a shipping address, which is absurd. So we need to have local pickup settings in our shortcode-based checkout so we can use them as we can on block-based checkout (buttons on top of the page, no need to provide a shipping address, editable from one place).

    Hey, @danyloliptuha!

I understand that the way local pickup is set up with blocks and shortcode is very different.

However, it is not possible to use the settings of the block with the shortcode.

You mentioned you don’t want to use the checkout block because it is not very customizable, but there are a few plugins that can help you customize it. You can also customize it with some custom code.

While we can’t provide support for code customization as per our support policy, nor do we provide support for third-party plugins, we do our best to offer advice and direct you to appropriate resources.

For code customization, you can visit the WooCommerce Facebook group or the #developers channel of the WooCommerce Community Slack. We’re lucky to have a great community of open-source developers for WooCommerce, and many of our developers hang out there too.

To look for a plugin, you can search for “woocommerce checkout customization“, or something similar, on the Plugins > Add New section of your dashboard or on a search engine like Google, for example. But please note that some plugins will only work with shortcode, so you need to check if they do support the blocks ??

It is good to check the plugin thoroughly to see if it is reliable. You can find more about this in this guide.

I hope this helps ?? Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help or if you have any questions.

    Have a wonderful day!
