    Hi,

I notice a Yoast SEO warning:

Link keyphrase: You’re linking to another page with the words you want this page to rank for.?Don’t do that!

However, after clicking the link in “Don’t do that”, i.e. https://yoast.com/what-is-anchor-text/, I cannot see any further information on this.

So, why don’t do that? Whe words I want this page to rank for, is also what the page is focus on.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @chcw

Thanks for reaching out about the SEO analysis for your post. What focus keyphrase or synonym(s) did you set for this post?

The Yoast SEO plugin has a?link focus keyphrase check, which can help you improve your link text. This check warns you when it detects competing links in your text. A link is considered competing when its anchor text contains the?focus keyphrase?that you want your page to rank for.

Let’s consider an example. You have written an article about potato chips, so your focus keyphrase is ‘potato chips.’ If you then use a link with the anchor text ‘potato chips’ in that same post, that link is considered a competing link. When Yoast SEO detects a competing link, it displays a warning message in the SEO analysis results.

You can learn more about it here —?https://yoast.com/what-is-anchor-text/#assessment.
