    [plugin version 5.3.2 – WordPress version 5.3.2]

I created a new custom image size (my-custom-image-555×555) and selected the option to generate the images for it. When I attempt to insert it into a page using the WordPress native media screen (see screen capture link) it only shows the thumbnail, medium, large and full size options.

I have seen a couple of people ask about this same issue…and I see that at least one of the questions is marked as resolved…but it’s still not working for me.

What’s odd is that I am almost 100% sure that this was working in the past using only your plugin.

I tried deleting and reinstalling your plugin (version 5.3.2). Unfortunately it’s still not working for me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Hi Lazlo,

When you check the details in the lightbox for that image, what do you see? Is the file generated? Please send me a screenshot of that.

The image sizes shown in the dropdown are:
    – image sizes that produced a file
    – these that are not marked in the plugin settings as “global ignored” or “unavailable” or “hide”

Please check the plugin settings and send me a screenshot of that as well.

    Regards,
    Iulia

I will debug and let you know if I can find the issue.
Which core version and plugin version do you use? Do you have any other “images” related plugins installed?

I am not running any other image plugins but I did do some tests with a plugin called Simple Image Sizes and it has an option to add custom image sizes to insert into posts. This did make it work…but only with Posts, not Pages.

Thanks very much for your help.

    Hi Lazlo,

I cannot replicate the issue in my environments, I can see the image size as expected, in the scenarios when that is supposed to appear https://imgur.com/ZN0H1Bc

In your screenshot the image size name is “my-custom-image-555×555”, but that does not look like added from the interface, my plugin is not allowing for “-” in the slug, so that is probably added in the database manually or in another way. This might be one of the reasons. Try with removing and adding back the image size from the interface, then regenerate the files.

When you generate the image size for an image, you might have to refresh the page/post before clicking the “Add Media” button, as the media library is not reloading the items on the fly.

Let me know if this helps.

    Regards,
    Iulia

It is possible that the name of that changed when I was trying to troubleshoot the problem with Simple Image Sizes.

I just created a new size and your plugin converted the dashes to underscores. Unfortunately it’s still not working.

I can give you admin access to the site. I just use it for testing.

    Hi Lazlo,

I pushed an update yesterday that includes the option to expose the available image sizes in the attachment display size dropdown regardless of other filters. This was fixing the issue, so I will mark the topic as solved.

You can start a new thread if you have other issues to report or questions.

    Regards,
