    Hi,
obviously UpdraftPlus creates a .htaccess-file in the folder “updraft” on the webserver. Its code is “deny from all”.

Is this a senseful and effective security measure, with proper php code?

    Thanks,

    Martin

    Hi Martin,

This .htaccess file is to stop any connections from outside the site from accessing the ‘updraft’ directory. This is an added layer of security to prevent backups and log files from being accessed from outside WP-Admin.
