why does Updraft create backup files in my host?

    Hi,
    Thank you for creating awesome plugin.
    I have one question.
    why does Updraft create backup files in my host?

    even though I chose Google Drive as my backup location…
    Can you pls help?

    Hi,

    Please check the option “Delete local backups” from UpdraftPlus > Settings > Show Expert settings, this will delete the local backups once it is uploaded to your remote storage.

    Thanks but I’ve enabled that option right at the beginning but it still saved my backup at my server.

    Hi,

    It is possible that the backup is failing to complete. UpdraftPlus will only delete the local backups when the backup successfully complete. To check, can you send me a copy of the backup log, please?

    Hi,

    Thanks for sending the backup log.

    As shown on the log, the backup successfully complete and local backup files are being deleted.

    “1918.623 (2) Deleting local file: backup_2020-06-19-0801_Sukhvat_Th_Gii_Cc_842d29d8681d-db.gz: OK”

    Can you delete the local backup files and see if it still continues to save the backup on your server please?

    But problem still persists. The backup files make my server reach full storage quota.

    Can you try to re-authenticate your Google Drive remote storage again please?
    Also, do you have any other plugins that use Google Drive API?
