• Hi ya,
So I can see no reason to have these plugins use groups, rather than link to the categories of posts/pages.

We can ONLY create groups when adding a subscriber, and if all the subscribers of a group are removed, then that group disappears.

This is very odd, and unhelpful.

And since you seem to only be able to add Groups with a new subscriber, then you have to create a fake new subscriber in order to have new groups.

Why not simply use the existing categories?

I can understand the use of groups to “group” categories together, but since you can’t create a group independently of a subscriber, then it all becomes very difficult…

    Thanks,
    Norman

  • Hi Norman,

Thank you for contacting Email Subscribers. Hope you are doing great today. ??

The idea of using the groups is to use multiple categories for a single group, there might be cases where the users have to select a number of categories for a particular group.

Also, you can specify the categories in the shortcode before creating any fake subscribers.

We currently do not have any plans to include categories to be directly selected in the form, however, I have forwarded your suggestions to our developers so that they may think about it more.

Please let me know your views.

Actually, can you point me at where I can associate categories with groups?

I found it once, but now I can’t find it again, and your Support website doesn’t seem to have any information about doing this.

    Hi Norman,

You can associate categories with the groups in Email Subscribers -> Post notifications -> [Your-post-notification]. You may refer to https://www.icegram.com/documentation/es-how-to-create-and-send-post-notification-emails-when-new-posts-are-published/ for more information.

    Hope this helps you.

    Aditya Shah
