• I understand that your recommendation is to install the Loco Translate plugin in order to translate the plugin’s output, but what I’d like to know is, why?

We are using LP on a Spanish website, and the translation already exists in your po/mo files.

In most plugins, this would mean that the translations just load in automatically based on the language setting of the WP site, without the need for an extra plugin.

But for whatever reason, LP doesn’t load in the es_ES translation until I activate it through Loco Translate. Is that what you expect? Couldn’t it load automatically if the languages match?

So far I found that if I activate Loco Translate and click on the LearnPress link inside, the translation works, and I can even de-activate the Loco Translate plugin afterward and it keeps working. Is this expected behavior?

It really seems like there should be a way to use existing translations without adding another plugin dependency to the site. I always avoid installing more plugins, for well-documented reasons.

I’d appreciate guidance on any solutions to activate an existing translation without ever using the Loco Translate plugin.

Thanks for any insight or feedback.
