    I have a lot of images on my site that’s pulled from facebook. These images get names like “fbimg_1234567890.jpg” and similar (long ID number for each image). When I run Media File Renamber, it suggest changing all those images as follows:

    fbimg_11111111111.jpg => fbimg_11111111111-jpg.jpg
    fbimg_22222222222.jpg => fbimg_22222222222-jpg.jpg
    fbimg_33333333333.jpg => fbimg_33333333333-jpg.jpg

    ..and so on (I guess you get the idea). Why does it suggest this change? It’s only for these facebook specific images it suggests that change, all the others in the media library works fine. I don’t want to add “-jpg” on all the images, so this keeps me from doing a “rename all” to fix all my other images that need renaming. Any way to get the plugin to skip these images?

    I think I know why. The plugin renames the filenames depending on their titles. What are the titles for your images? I am pretty sure they are not pretty titles at the moment, they are just like the filenames with a JPG in it.

    The titles are exactly the same as the old file name. Real example from the site:

    Title: fbimg_788689751180518.jpg
    Filename: fbimg_788689751180518.jpg
    Suggested change: fbimg_788689751180518-jpg.jpg

    I would suggest skipping a name change if the title == the filename, or maybe that has other negative side effects?

    I completely agree with you and I added this to my to do list. It wouldn’t have any negative effects but it’s a dirty rename, the plugin really shouldn’t do this. This will be fixed ??

    Great, thanks! I agree it’s maybe not the plugins responsibility, but at least some “skip rename if title matches filename”-option in the settings would be awesome.

    Thanks for quick feedback and solution!

    I believe it’s not even an option, it is almost a bug at this point ?? I need to fix it because it’s simply not clean (while this plugin should actually keep things clean and neat). I will mark it as resolved (as a support thread) but will work on it for the next release ?? Thanks a lot for finding this out.
