I have six blogs. I just upgraded 5 of them from 2.6 to 2.6.1 successfully. I then went to the admin for the sixth blog so that I could upgrade it as well. The version number shows 2.6 in the admin. However, unlike the rest of my blogs, there was no notice that I needed to upgrade to 2.6.1. Why does WP think I have the latest version when I don’t?

So I decided to try upgrading anyway. I ran WPAU plugin (which I always use and love), and it said Congratulations, you already have the latest version. Clearly I don’t, but I need to figure out how to let it know I don’t. Any ideas?

    Couple more things:

    1. I checked the wp-includes/version.php file and it says 2.6 in it.

    2. I deleted WPAU plugin just in case it was causing a conflict, but nothing changed.

It’s as if WP knows the correct version, but doesn’t know that there is a newer one out there.

Suddenly, the blog now recognizes that a new version is available, for no apparent reason. It just “woke up”. So…no worries, I guess. ??

This happened to me as well – one of my two didn’t recognise there was a newer version whereas the other one did! Left it overnight, and then today it said there was a newer version.
