My program for example uses a CHtmlView control which under the hood is IE. Sometimes they must use IE.

Just don’t understand why you decide to force users to stop using a browser.

I use opera on my pc. But why force? I have held off upgrading because I don’t like this enforcement.

In October 2019 the worldwide market share of IE is at 1,98%. I see your angle and understand your frustration, but I think it is unfair to desire that they still would dedicate resources and time for a platform that has clearly not survived the test of time.

We understand the concern, however, Internet Explorer is no longer considered a modern browser. Windows has stopped releasing updates for older versions of IE. Newer versions of IE do still get some limited updates as described here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/windows/end-of-ie-support. But it is clear that Windows will eventually phase it out over time. As IE no longer has the market share and the trend line for the IE product is clear we have made the decision to no longer support it.

As it turns out, Windows has a newer browser called Edge: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/microsoft-edge. Yoast is expected to work with this one. If you are using Edge and experience issues we would love to hear about it! Please feel free to make a new topic for any issues with Edge you may have.

This is all well and good. And I get it.

But it doesn’t change the fact that Microsoft have not yet provided any solution for MFC Visual C++ Developers who use CHtmlView to use any other browser but IE.

And IE allows me to open XML files which are transformed with XSL. Not all browsers support that feature.

My primary is Opera, followed by Chrome and Fireox.

So Microsoft can’t just ditch it.

    Your choice though.

    Thanks.
