Why do recurring memberships expire?

Regarding the expired subscriptions: If an end date is set on a subscription, either because the product it relates to has a defined subscription length, or because the end date was manually set on the subscription, when that date is reached, the subscription will be assigned the Expired status.

But since it seems you are facing other issues with the subscriptions, we’d like to further investigate the situation and better understand your website. Can you please provide the information below?

• System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support.
• Fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.
  You could copy and paste your reply here or paste it via https://gist.github.com/ and send the link here.
• Please share screenshots of the subscriptions you mentioned so we can check it.
• If you can also share screenshots of the subscriptions settings, that will be great too

Thank you for your reply. As I said, I do not offer subscriptions with an end date, and have not ever set one manually, so so these answers do not help. I am also asking mainly about Memberships expiring, not Subscriptions, as I know at least one way a subscription can expire: if a users payment method fails (please correct me if I’m wrong), but know no way a Membership can expire under the circumstance of my site that I have explained.

There is nothing that looks like a ‘fatal error log’ in the location you suggest.

I am not sure what you mean ‘subscriptions settings’ I’m afraid?
