We’ve just updated plugins on one of dozens of school websites and found that the old plugin has gone and we have to configure to new one after linking it to our Elementor account. That’s 15 minutes of unplanned downtime and the loss of the design and accessibility on the website until this work is completed.
This is a terrible way to to roll this out by Elementor. Terrible.

Improving accessibility and the plugin is a good idea. Forcing it on users without consent is a very bad idea. I hope you’re able to change this because it will break an awful lot of websites and ironically, remove the accessibility tools from them.

Hi, thank you for contacting us with this matter.

We have found a bug that caused websites with specific actions to auto-update; even though we ran tests for a while to make sure it did not happen, it did, and we are working to rectify it.

This plugin is free and is made to make website accessibility easier and with further features.

Due to the connection needed, the feature did not show on the live side, it is an honest mistake and we do apologize for that, we learn for our future plans.

    I appreciate your understanding.

    Thanks for your reply.

This was not an auto-update bug. We ran a manual update, then discovered accessibility had gone.

I see you’ve now made some improvements having tested it on another site. I see you can revert to the old accessibility plugin – that’s better.

It would be good to be able to edit more than just the background colour.
