• “Fix – Fixed an issue where the notices shown in classic themes were using the updated styles”

Well that messed up my stores notices. They were all nice and smooth looking and now they lost all of their styles and are with the same font and color as the product descriptions are on the page so it’s very difficult to see the notice. Especially when a product is added to cart.

I’m using Avada theme and I did notice the notice styles changed at some stage which I actually thought was a good thing because they looked a lot better. Now they look awful and I need to somehow hunt down the CSS of the good-looking notices and implement them manually…

This is rather just a feedback of my frustration. I did read some guys review that WooCommerce keeps breaking his site and he doesn’t have time to go through each scenario of a customer flow to check if this update broke something or not. Well I feel like him now… Unfortunately my store is deeply customized with WooCommerce so I can’t just switch over to a more stable platform…

  • Hi @jussipv,

I understand you’re experiencing issues with the notices on your WooCommerce store. It seems like the update has caused some unexpected issues with your store’s theme, Avada. To better understand and resolve the issue, please provide the following information.

    1. Could you share a link to a webpage where we can replicate the issue?
    2. Could you also share a screenshot of the error message or the issue you’re facing?

This will help us identify the problem more accurately.

We look forward to your response and resolving this issue for you.

Apologies if I should start a new thread, but I believe I have the exact same issue as @jussipv so posting here seems more appropriate.

The notices changed their styling I believe in version 8.5.0. They changed to look like below. Error notices were marked in red and success notices marked in green.:

I – like @jussipv – preferred this new look, but I had a bit of CSS work to do to get these exactly as I wanted. They then looked great and I replicated the CSS on several other websites.

I have now upgraded to 8.6.1 and this new style of notice has been removed and the old (bland, ugly) ones returned.

I can see the following in the changelog for 6.6.0, which suggests why this has happened: “Fixed an issue where the notices shown in classic themes were using the updated styles”.

It appears that the new stylings were added “by mistake” to classic themes and then removed. However, for those of us using “classic” themes, how do we re-activate the newer look notices (like the screenshot above) that some of us clearly prefer and have already spent time getting just right on our sites – only for these to then be removed in later updates?

Many thanks for your time on this matter.

    Hello @maninulsan,

As per forum rules, I suggest that you start a new thread with your case, so that we don’t mix several troubleshooting sessions in one thread. Even if the symptoms are the same, perhaps the underlying problem is different in your case.

    Thanks.

I agree, how do we get the new style of notice back to get rid of the old (bland, ugly) ones.

    Hi @mxgolfcpu,

Thank you for contacting WooCommerce support. I understand you have the same query however all websites are built differently and run in different environments. Therefore, as per our Support Policy, I will suggest you create a new topic so we can assist you separately.

    I appreciate your understanding. ??

This is the one thing I hate about Woocommerce – whenever there is an update – its a dreaded fear that something is now no longer going to work as it once was.
