I’m currently using Version 2.8.2 because I cannot update to Version 2.8.4 (no surprise there, it hasn’t ever worked unless WordPress is installed on it’s own) and I cannot upload images via wp-admin or via FTP Client.

When I upload via wp-admin, I get the following message with the browser uploader: “Error saving media attachment.” and the following message with flash uploader: “The uploaded file could not be moved to /../…/…./myblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08.”

When uploading via FTP Client, they upload okay, however, when I go into my WP Library, they do not show up.

Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?

This is so frustrating! I’m always having problems with WordPress from Plugins to Images to Updates to ANYTHING, something ALWAYS goes wrong or won’t work! Would it be my hosting, maybe?

    Yes, it is your webhosting.

The uploaded file could not be moved to ../../etc.

Some webhosts require you to CHMOD /uploads/ folder from 755 to 777
After changing CHMOD to 777, try uploading again. If it doesn’t work, create the folder /08/ to make it /uploads/2009/08/
