Why Can’t I See My API?

  • Hello. I have a blog that is hosted via godaddy.com. I am new to wordpress and have encountered the following problems:

    1) I cannot see my API is my user profile. Therefore, I cannot run the Akimet plugin.

    2) I am unable to get new plugins in the plugins section of my site. Therefore, I cannot active any of them.

    If anyone knows what I need to do to fix these problems I would be very appreciative. Thank you for reading.

  • 1) You need to register for a free account at wordpress.com. You don’t need to have a hosted blog there, you can just have an account. Once you’ve set that up, you’ll find your API key in your profile there.

    2) Have a look at Managing_Plugins in the codex, which gives some details on how to get plugins into your blog.
