why can’t I save edit on Elementor when using the editor on a mobile device
-
Hi,
this is really weird – when using the Elementor editor on a mobile device (Chrome browser on Android tablet), the save changes button is completely gone.
I tried on several Androi devices and it is the same. Why is this happening? There is enough space, the tablet has a big screen.
I can edit but there is no way to save the edits (for example when editing a page with Elementor)Any idea?
many thanks

Hi,
please send me a link to your site.
Hello,
any solution discovered?
I am fightingbwkith this issue for months on all my sites. There is just no bottom buttons to publish etc. on mobile.
So when you are out of desktop – forgwt to change even a letter.I, too, am having this problem. It’s not specific to any one site. Please Elementor, give us an answer to this!
Hi,
You can not edit in Elementor on mobile devices, please read:
https://elementor.com/help/requirements/Device
You cannot edit with Elementor on mobile phones and tablets at this time. You can only edit pages with Elementor on desktop computers.?I found that it was possible, but certainly not easy, to edit an Elementor page on my Android mobile. Just attached a mouse via OTG and used it with Firefox browser in desktop mode. Very hard to see on mobile (lots of zooming req) – a tablet would be better.
Not something I’d recommend for significant updates, but certainly feasible for emergency updates like text changes and simple additions.
@oldclicker you are a Hero for me! ??
Don’t have to bring a laptop on holidays now ??
Thank you! ??Oops, sorry if I misled anyone, but I realised the page I had the success editing with an OTG attached mouse was in fact on a WPBakery site not an Elementor one. A bit of brain-fog due to advancing years…
I have however experimented more, and the sweet spot for editing Elementor pages on an Android mobile seems to be using the Vivaldi browser in desktop mode (buried in settings). This reliably displays the green update button at the bottom of the left sidebar when changes have been made, something that the other browsers seem not to want to do.
Using an OTG mouse does give you hover, but overall is not such a huge help as I thought. I found it impossible to drag new elements into place. Again, I found a workaround by using the Navigation window – existing similar elements on the page (or even a different page) can be copied and then pasted where required and modified.
It seems to me that it shouldn’t take a huge amount of development effort to avoid the need to mess around like this, most of the code must be already in place – oh well…
Sorry again for the confusion.
Hi, I found another way inspired by @oldclicker ??
- Install Firefox for Android
- Open the Elementor editor and set the desktop view (3 dots).
- Edit anything e.g. add a space to a text module.
- Refresh, the browser ask if you are sure to leave the page/refresh. Confirm that you want to refresh (without saving).
- Now after the strange refresh process – there is the section with Update button at the end of Elementor panel.
By the way all the problem is because of ‘height:100%’ for .elementor-panel element. It should be also position:fixed I guess.
I successfully saved on Samsung tab7 android. Go into device settings>display then turn off Taskbar. You can also change the bottom navigation from a bar to swipe gestures. This gives more visibility to the bottom of display.
Now when I use landscape orientation the update and save box is visible. It dissappear when viewing in horizontal.
Update. After approximately 3 successful edit saves and 20 minutes the button has disappeared regardless of settings and orientation. IDK hope someone finds a hack we can use.
Solution: I can get the save area to reappear. I found that I need to pinch zoom in slightly then move screen to show the bottom left save area. It seems glitchy and sometimes I had to play with zoomed in screen area to rediscover the save button. Trial and error.
I have been successfully mobile editing on a tablet now using this glitchy process. After learning curve it works pretty easy.
is this resolved? The problem seems to still exist for me. I will play around with Jimenez’s solution, but that seems like a pretty kludgy workaround not a “resolution”
This shouldn’t be tagged as resolved if you haven’t find a surefire solution about this. In my case, I’m working with Galaxy Tab S6.
My surefire solution is to use Firefox, doesn’t matter whether it’s on mobile mode or desktop mode, and putting the address bar on top. That’s all. The elementor’s update button will always appear without any workaround.
Hopefully it’ll also work with all of you guys.
thank you all for trying. I gave up Elementor because of this. I still can’t understand why Elementor would allow this problem to go on, as this is a mobile world.
Using my fold 3 in chrome I can open the editor and make edits to widgets already on the page, I can’t yet add new widgets or really move anything. On the fold I can see similar to my desktop view as I adjusted the resolution in my dev mode.
The hhardest part is the publish button as it falls below the bottom of the screen. My one fix is scrolling to the bottom of the page, while having a text box selected and after a few attempts at dragging the bottom up it usually pops up to publish changes.
doesn’t seem to recognize a mouse from my phone yet but still holding out hope I’ll be able to build a new page from my phone / tablet.
@dcmcelligott – just turn on Editor Top Bar new option and the editor is responsive then (Elementor > Settings > Features).
I can suggest some general steps you might take to address this issue:
- Clear Cache and Cookies: Sometimes, browser cache and cookies can cause display issues. Try clearing the cache and cookies for the Chrome browser on your Android tablet and then reloading the Elementor editor.
- Browser Compatibility: Ensure that you are using a supported version of the Chrome browser. Browsers and their features can behave differently across versions, so it’s possible that the version you’re using might have compatibility issues.
- Elementor Updates: Ensure that both Elementor and WordPress are updated to the latest versions. Plugin updates often include bug fixes and improvements, which might resolve the issue you’re facing.
- Responsive Mode: Elementor is designed to be responsive, so it might be worth checking if you’re in a responsive mode that might hide certain elements on smaller screens. Try switching between responsive and desktop modes to see if the “Save Changes” button reappears.
- Zoom Level: Sometimes, changing the zoom level of the browser can affect the layout and visibility of certain elements. Make sure the browser zoom level is set to its default or try adjusting it to see if it makes a difference.
- Theme Compatibility: Certain themes might have conflicts with Elementor. Try switching to a default WordPress theme temporarily to see if the issue persists. If the issue is resolved with a default theme, the problem might be related to your current theme.
- Plugin Conflicts: Deactivate other plugins one by one to check if there’s a conflict between Elementor and another plugin causing the issue.
- Debugging: If you’re comfortable with technical troubleshooting, you might want to enable WordPress debugging to check if there are any errors being logged that could provide more information about the problem.
- Elementor Support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, consider reaching out to Elementor’s support or community forums. They might have encountered similar issues and could provide specific guidance.
