Why can't I creates spaces between paragraphs?

  • Hey everyone,

    I’m completely new to wordpress and I’m wondering why I can’t create spaces between my paragraphs when I type them out.

    My assumption was that things would appear as they do in “Visual” when I add a post. What I’m having to do is go in to text and put a few spaces between the lines where I want a paragraph. This wouldn’t be too bad however it that doesn’t always work.

    Is this common or am I doing something wrong?

    Also as another question how can I change the font on sub headers? There doesn’t seem to be any option for that.

    This is not the proper way to insert space. Do you just want black space, or do you want more space between your paragraphs?

    Also as another question how can I change the font on sub headers? There doesn’t seem to be any option for that.

    If the theme you are using doesn’t include an option for that, you will need to create a child theme and add that information to your child theme’s style sheet.

    Thanks for getting back to me.

    As far as the section question is concerned I’ve handled that.

    I do want a little white space between my paragraphs yes. What I had to do with my previous post was to delete all the div’s and enter p. Ideally I’d want this to just happen naturally.

    What did I do wrong the first time?

    This is generally a CSS issue. When you see some ‘space’ under the HTML element <p> (paragraph), it’s due to CSS.

    Can you provide a link here to a post or page that demonstrates this issue please?

    Well I changed the first post on my blog and I tried to create another as a test to show you but for some reason it’s working now. I don’t know what I’m doing differently this time. I’m not complaining though.

    If it happens again I’ll post a link here.

    Okay I’ve just seen something.

    In my previous post there’s a little section at the bottom that says “div” but when I add a new post it says “p”

    If it ever reads a “div” again how do I change that back to “p”?

    ‘<p>’ and ‘<div>’ are HTML elements.
