Just curious why you block search engines such as Yandex and Baidu?

Also, in the bad bots table, the option to deactivate bots there is a spelling mistake.

It reads – “desactivate” when it should be “deactivate”

    Hi Martychc23

First of all, thanks for tell me about the spelling error, i will fix that next release.

I have some sites i don’t want be indexeded by Baidu and Yandex, (this sites are in Italian or Portuguese, not their language) because have thousands os pages and they overload my server (they open a lot of pages same time). Then, i put the denied ad robots.txt but they don’t obey. Then, they are bad bots.

If you want be indexed by them, just deactivate.

    Thanks again, cheers,
    Bill

    Hi Sminozzi,

I did have to disable one bot called “test”. I only discovered i needed to disable this after reading a comment someone left in the support section.

This bot “test” seems to be the name of the bot used by WPFastestCache to preload the cache. With your plugin, it blocks this bot and prevents preloading of cache.

I agree this is not the best name for that bot, but unless/until it is changed, you might want to make a note of this on the plugin page warning people this can happen. Otherwise people may just assume your plugin breaks their site and choose to uninstall it without realizing what the problem was.

    Hi @martychc23,

Good idea, thanks. i will do that.
If you is a user of WPFastestCache, please, suggest to author to improve their bot name.

    Thanks,

    Cheers,

    Hi Bill,

Just updated to latest version. Not sure if this is an error or not, but when i updated from the plugins page in admin dashboard, a notice with your picture came up asking me to leave feedback on why i wanted to deactivate the plugin.

Seems like trying to update the plugin causes the plugin to think it’s being deactivated and then popup a message.
