    After the latest plugin update, Wordfence believes one of my plugins contains a backdoor because it has found the string:

    $width = @$_COOKIE[‘width’] * 0.80;

    Problem is this string is in the original files of the plugin and, even if I updated the plugin too, the string is always there.

  • Hi islp,
    Please let me know more details about this plugin, is it a premium plugin or a free one hosted on the official WordPress repository?

    Thanks.

    @islp

    A link or the name of the plugin, would help.

    Hello, the plugin is ARForms, it is not free and as far ad I know it is not in the official repository

    Hey @islp

    there is nothing wrong in arforms. Neither any backdoor there. cookie is been used to store modal window width and nothing wrong in that.

    its false alarm by wordfence. we have already contacted them. And they will do the needful ASAP.

    If anybody says its any kind of backdoor or malicious program then he/she must check code before writing anything.

    Thanks

    @arforms

    Correct it is payed plugin and looks like it was last updated Dec 2015.

    The same warning you are having shown in Wordfence, looks like other users have the same issues.

    we do not need to fix anything. its not problem at all. we submitted everything to worfence so, they will do the needful and remove false warning from our code soon.

    @reputeinfosystems

    as I said, I checked for the presence of @$_COOKIE in the original files and found it was there, so I thought it was a Wordfence issue

    @islp
    I’ve just checked with the team and this issue should be fixed if you run a new scan by now, some of the plugin code was similar to another code used in a backdoor.

    Thanks.
