Why are there so few themes listed at the moment?

There are actually hundreds, if not thousands, of themes. You could just do a Google search for “WordPress themes” or WordPress 2.6 themes.

I’m not sure where you see those three, but those are not the only three that work with 2.6.

I just found out that since last week there is an extend/themes, which is in development it seems.

Extend/Themes is a new feature and that’s way it only has 3 themes. Also, there are few requirements before you can upload a theme, so theme authors must first fix their themes befroe they upload.

I am working on my Starscape theme, and I will upload it there next week. I am sure more themes will be uploaded soon.

There are now a whopping NINE!

The theme viewer is a great find (https://themes.wordpress.net/), and the weblogtoolscollection.com seems to be a good commercial resource (packed with ads, though a lot of them look relevant too!).
