• After a recent SEMrush audit I have noticed in page source that social icons in page footer are “nofollow”.

Is there a reason for this and how can I change them to be followed links?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi Riley,

Upon checking in the Chrome browser, they seems to be working fine at our end.

Would you mind clearing your browser’s (https://www.refreshyourcache.com/en/home/) cache or testing on a different browser? And see if the issue goes away.

    Thank you!

    Thanks for replying @emranemranx

I’ve checked this with both Chrome and Firefox (after clearing cache/history etc) by viewing page source. Attached is the footer block of html showing “nofollow” for the 3 social icons. It first came to my attention when conducting a site audit with SEMrush so I checked manually to confirm as I thought it was unusual.

    Look forward to your advice.

    <div class="span3 social-block pull-left"><span class="social-links"><a rel="nofollow" class="social-icon icon-facebook" title="Follow us on Facebook" aria-label="Follow us on Facebook" href="https://www.facebook.com/L2Proadready/" target="_blank" style="font-size:30px"><i class="fab fa-facebook"></i></a><a rel="nofollow" class="social-icon icon-twitter" title="Follow us on Twitter" aria-label="Follow us on Twitter" href="https://twitter.com/l2proadready?lang=en" target="_blank" style="font-size:30px"><i class="fab fa-twitter"></i></a><a rel="nofollow" class="social-icon icon-google-plus" title="Follow us on Google-plus" aria-label="Follow us on Google-plus" href="https://plus.google.com/112206402443801324571" target="_blank" style="font-size:30px"><i class="fab fa-google-plus"></i></a></span></div>
