Why Are Paragraphs Converted to Table Rows?

Why does Mailpoet convert paragraphs into separate table rows in email templates? How can I customize the template to NOT do this?

I like Mailpoet and have been patient with it for years, but it has really fallen behind in terms of templates and the editor in comparison to other services (I have purchased two lifetime deals of the Mailpoet’s premium plugin).
