Why are my Google Analytic stats and my wordpress stats so hugely different?

I’m not entirely sure if WordPress is reporting too high or google reporting too low, although most likely it’s a bit of both so I’m asking this here to see if anyone else is seeing this.

On one of blogs I’m seeing 65 unique hits today in wordpress stats and on Google Analytics it’s showing 10. This is a huge huge discrepancy and I want to figure out who the hell is right so I can fairly charge for advertising across my network.

Now if these WP hits were direct referrer or something I would blame that but these are google searches and I have the stats on the keyphrases used. For those 65 uniques I have 30 keyphrases used and I imagine the rest are from referrers or maybe mistakes on WP-stats but even then that’s still a 300% difference from Analytics..

Anyone go through this, anyone have any ideas?
