Why ajax locking?

  • I found that plugin lock down ajax requests when there is updraft plugin update to prevent install other plugins. So if there is an update of updraft – other plugins simply cant be installed. It also add console log “UpdraftPlus: WP shiny updates (4.2+) detected: lock (lock variable: ajaxLocked)“. This is so bad decision.

    Hi there,

    It appears your problem is related to Shiny Updates, not UpdraftPlus.

    According to the Shiny Updates plugin page:

    This plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.

    Hence, if you’re using an unmaintained plugin last updated 8 years ago you may encounter issues.
