why 404 error occur when I install WordPress on localhost?

    I want to design a website on localhost for practice but I am facing a critical issue that I can’t solve still. When I install WordPress on localhost then it gives me an 404 page error. I have tried many time to solve the problem but can’t succeed. Kindly guide me about it.
