    I have a client with two catalogs on a client site. Both have passwords for accessing wholesale products. These product pages have been indexed and I need a way to keep retail clients from accessing the catalogs and submitting orders. I am thinking redirecting search returns to homepage. This would be for pages with a category name in the link. I do not want to ban all pages but have to keep retail users from accessing wholesale product catalog/pages. Not sure the best way to make this work properly.

    Link to wholesale catalog that requires password – https://www.waldfireworks.com/wholesale-consumer/wholesale-class-c-missouri/

    This works but if a user finds the link indexed on a search engine they have direct access and do not need to login – https://www.waldfireworks.com/product-category/missouri/cone-fountains-missouri/

    Hi there,

    Have you considered using a plugin like https://woocommerce.com/products/dynamic-pricing/ where the price changes depending on the role of the logged-in user? It sounds like that would be an ideal fit here as the prices would change AND it’ll prevent search engine indexing of product pages that shouldn’t be accessible for non-wholesale users.

    That is a good idea. I will check with my client and see if they are interested in making retail pricing available. They have always used a tease on the retail side to get people into their locations. The majority of their business is to wholesale clients. Not sure if it is a liability issue or what. Thanks for the insight on the plugin. I have been using WP for a long time but WC sparingly. I appreciate it.
