Whole site 404. cant access wp-admin dashboard

    Hello everyone,

    I havent made any changes so cant think why this has suddenly happened. Every page comes up 404.

    The header and footer and menus are visible, but every page is inaccessible.

    Cant even login to wpadmin. That page comes up 404 too!

    Have logged into wordpress.com to access basic dashboard (not sure if that’s called a dashboard, but it allowed me to update plugins and try turning them off one by one to find the problem)

    All pages still show 404.

    Please help. It’s very frustrating. My members payment arent even going through ??

  • Hello,

    It seems to be some permalink issue, if you change the setting from Admin Dashboard it may work fine.

    Try using the URL https://www.theyareourfuture.com/wp-login.php to access the admin, I found that via this you may log in and access the Dashboard.

    See if this helps.

    Delete .htaccess

    type in domain.com/wp-login.php

    login.

    Dashboard -> Settings -> Permalinks -> Save. (just automatically recreates your .htaccess again).

    If the problem persists. Try disabling plugins. Enable plugins 1 by 1 until the problem occurs again. That will narrow down the faulty plugin.

    I was able to login to dashboard.
    I changed a setting in permalinks, but 404 on the whole site is still present ??

    thank you @yogeshyadav20 I accessed my file manager and delete .htaccess (this was scary) then I went into my dashboard and saved permalinks again to generate a new .htaccess.

    But the problem is still there, nothing has changed.

    I have disabled the plugins one by one, but nothing is making a difference

    please help

    Good news! I updated wordpress (not sure why it doesnt update automatically) and it’s all working again! Thank you again for your help

    Great to know that the problem is now solved.
