I am located in Germany. When I add “DE” to the whitelist, my access to the frontend is blocked. When I add DE to the blacklist, the access is not blocked. Can I assume that in this case all other countries are blocked? Actually, I want to use the plugin to only allow certain countries, in the sense of a whitelist. When I only add “CN” to the blacklist, my access is also not blocked. But I have no idea whether China has access in this case or not. The behavior and function of the plugin is completely opaque to me. What do I need to set so that, for example, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria have access and all others are blocked?

    Hey @ulang66,

If the plugin is set up properly there shouldn’t be an issue.

To allow specific countries only you need to do the following

    1. “Validation rules and behavior” > “Matching rule“: SET “Whitelist”
    2. “Validation rules and behavior” > “Whitelist of country code or pattern“: SET “DE,CH,AT”
    3. Enable “Front-end target settings” > “Block by Location” (This will be renamed to “Match by Location” in the next release because for whitelisting it’s a bit confusing.)
    4. “Front-end target settings” > “Matching rule“: SET “Follow ‘Validation Rules and behavior'”

    And don’t forget to save.

Let me know if that worked. If the issue still persist please contact us at [email protected]

    Best Regards,
    Darko

Thank you very much, now it seems to work. Yesterday I tried it exactly the same way. It didn’t work then. Could it be that it takes a while for the plugin to know the country codes and therefore DE in the whitelist led to a block?
