I use Nextgen gallery on my server (multisite) and connect from Lightroom using its Nextgen Gallery Export plugin. However, I’ve not found a way of setting up a login whilst NFW is running: each time I set up the plugin I find I have to temporarily disable NFW to do so. Is there a more elegant way of whitelisting here, by user (preferred) or even IP address?

    Hi,

Did you check the firewall’s log? Can you paste here the lines showing why you were blocked (you can anonymize the IP and domain name before pasting them)?

Here’s one of the log lines – as you can see, it’s a standard xmlrpc.php call. I obviously don’t want to open up xmlrpc calls, so can I whitelist on any basis? I’m assuming that user login wouldn’t actually work as it needs to be authenticated via the xmlrpc call before the firewall knows whether to block it or not…

If you want to keep the protection enabled, whitelist your IP with the .htninja file and its ALLOW directive: https://nintechnet.com/ninjafirewall/wp-edition/help/?htninja
