Is there any way to whitelist an IP that keeps getting flagged as spam and put on the permanent block list?

I’m on a shared server and my own server’s IP address keeps getting marked as spam and permanently blocked, which might be fair tbh, who knows what people are doing on it, but regardless, it’s a problem.

    Thanks

Hi, thank you for contacting us.

Go to WP Security -> Brute Force -> Login Whitelist and enable the following feature Login Whitelist Options. This allows you to add any IP address you want to whitelist.

Let me know if the above helps you.

    Thank you

    Thank you I’ll do that.

For clarity, I wasn’t having any issues with logging in: What I was seeing was WP just kicking me out of various admin pages at refresh/save (I assume because it was trying to access the server and was unable to).

So this is still the right solution even though it’s specifically a login whitelist?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Just to be clear, can you go WP Security -> User Login -> Force Logout. Do you have this feature enabled? If you do what time value have you entered?

    Thank you

    It’s not enabled.

The reason for the block was marked as ‘spam’, so I had assumed something less nefarious than login attempts (comment spam or something like that, I don’t know: I have no idea how the plugin decides those categories).

Hi, maybe you should get in contact with your host about this issue. After all it is a shared account IP address that is getting marked as spam.

Let me know what they say.

    Thank you

So are you saying that there is no way to whitelist an IP that keeps getting marked as spam (I assume the brute force-login whitelist is not going to achieve that)?

    Thanks

No, that is not what I am saying because whitelisting the IP address might actually work.

However if whitelisting your shared IP address does not work because the IP address is getting marked as spam, then you need to speak to your host about this issue. Lets hope they can share some light into this matter.

    Kind regards
