    Hi,

I’m attempting to use Meta Slider for the first time to duplicate a page I built in HTML using Bootstrap in a WordPress blog, because the owner wants to be able to fiddle with it’s content.

I have searched and read all of the posts on this topic, but none will solve this problem of enormous amounts of white space below the slider on Mobiles.

I also had to hide the dots because they are showing up way down below the slider over the top of other content.

While I’m asking questions I’d also like to do something with the next and prev arrows, I’ve only had limited success trying to modify those.

    Kindest Regards

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Isn’t always the case, post up a question and find the answer yourself 10 mins later.

Well almost, I have solved the issues with the dots by reducing the height of the flex-viewport and also the height of .metaslider .slides img

However it hasn’t resolved the issue of way too much white space below the slider on mobiles.

Next and Prev buttons still could do with some attention.

Just noticed that the Prev / Next buttons also move from the centre edge to the bottom edge on Mobiles.

    Hi,

Do you have JetPack installed? Any difference if you disable it?

Yes it does, the white space reduces, but I’d rather leave it activated.

Do you have a work around for it ??

Can you try adding this script to disable it just for MetaSlider? it’s a little old but should still work (unless JetPack changed some internals):

Add it to your functions.php file

Deactivated Jetpack and after adding that code to functions.php I can’t reactivate Jetpack, tried all sorts of things including deleting it and reinstalling, getting all sorts of warnings fro Jetpack even after removing that extra code.

    Hi,

Did you maybe delete something else when adding the filter? It’s just a filter so it should go back to how it was it you remove it.

    What sort of warnings?

I tacked that code onto the bottom so not much chance I deleted something I shouldn’t have.

The latest error message is: Unable to insert blog. Please try again or contact support.

I googled it and it seems that was a problem a year or so ago, but mostly only for people using Cloud Servers.

I did make some changes to the structure of this site today as it’s a strange breed of html pages and WordPress, WP was only added so the owner could blog, but he has gotten a little emboldened and is now getting way over his pay grade on what he wants to do.

Not sure if that is having any effect on this problem or not, everything is still in the same sub-folder that it was in, I just copied the index.php and moved it up one level and deleted the index.html file.

If this becomes too much of an issue I will just find a sharing plugin to use and leave it at that, even though Jetpack has a lot to offer.

If you want to keep JetPack, and the filter isn’t working, I believe you can just disable their Photon module as that is what is manipulating the output of the images.

I have to get to activate first or perhaps go down the do it with code path.

    Thanks for your assistance.

Good News, for some strange reason Jetpack allowed me to activate it this morning and I have just remembered to add the code from Github to the functions.php file and that fixed it.

    Many thanks for you help
