Second question, sorry for that. I’m trying to have my hero (home page) full height and width. Right now there is a white space above the hero image.

I have only a top side header row (with the menu). I have set all of the background settings for the top row to transparant state.

I can set the ‘Content Area Spacing’ to zero, and then the white space is gone. But if I do that, There will also be zero space between all of my content and posts on other pages, so that it not a solution obviously.

How can I achieve this? I have tried many things but I can’t figure it out.

  • Hello @nuttiewal

Would you be able to post the URL of the page that’s affected by this? Without looking at the front end, we cannot recommend a solution, because we have to see what we’re working with ??

    Thanks

Well it’s not really specific to my page, I think more the option in the theme.
Because with another site it doesn’t work either. It’s not live yet though so I’d prefer to explain it by examples if that’s okay:

-What I’m trying to achieve (for just the home page): https://www.tesla.com
    -What I have now: https://www.apple.com

So just like apple, there is this top row (but then transparent, its the background color of just the page itself) and under the top row, the full width hero image.

So I would like to move the hero up so that it is ‘under’ the menu.

I don’t know if it makes any difference but I am using a sticky header btw.

    Hello @nuttiewal

I understand what you’re trying to achieve, though, we still need to take a look at the setup to be able to give you specific instructions. We have many demos with headers/heros just like tesla’s website, which you can check here — https://creativethemes.com/blocksy/starter-sites/ — so the feature is definitely working.

This all depends on how you’ve composed the page. It might be required to adjust the paddings/margins of the hero block, or use the Content Spacing option, or disable the page title area.

So please, if you can, post the website’s URL so we can take a look and recommend you the best course of action.

Oh I thought it was a theme thing.. Is it also possible with just Blocksy child theme, blocksy companion and the block editor and nothing else? I have no elementor/another page builder or any other plugins.

Is it possible to give instructions as if it were for a new website maybe? Because I am trying to do it on a website that still has no changes (all default).

I haven’t been able to find instructions anywhere on the blocksy site but I’m sure if I have these instructions I can make it work (have to re-do everything anyways)

    Hello @nuttiewal

Yep, that is completely possible. All of our demos are built with Gutenberg and nothing else.

Though, we cannot provide site building instructions, I will invite you to check out our YouTube channel here — https://www.youtube.com/c/CreativeThemes — which has a lot of videos on different subjects, including how to create a header like tesla’s website. ??

    Hope this helps.

Okay, I have spend hours and tried every setting possible in the customizer and page editor.

Now I just discovered, thanks to the video, that there is apparently a button ‘Blocksy page settings’ where I can customize the padding for only 1 page.

Thank you for the support, I didn’t know there were so many videos and explanations on youtube.

Everything works perfectly now (besides that I’m feeling really dumb that I’ve never seen that button before).

?? Glad everything is fine now, @nuttiewal
