Just updated, noting that there are some changes to database optimization. But, when I try access the environment page: /wp-admin/admin.php?page=sgo_environment, it is blank, except the WP admin menu bar is till there on the left. I’m going to hold off on updating my other sites. The one in question is my live test site.

Edit: updated on some staging sites, the environment page flashes briefly, then goes white. The other settings pages seem to work, so far.

    Hello @sean-h,

I was able to replicate the issue in question and resolve it after clearing the SiteGround Optimizer cache. It appears to be related to the custom theme configuration which is also applied on the backend of the application.

The same behavior was not observed when testing with other applications that I used for testing.

Thank you for reporting it. We will observe this behavior and report it to our developers.

    Best regards,

    Hi @georgiganchev,

After lots of flushing in Site Tools (Purge SG Cache in WP did not work) I got it to work on one site and set the desired database optimisations, but another site refuses to display the environment settings page, no matter how much flushing I do. Same theme (Divi), same theme optimisation features. Either way, one should not have to flush after plugin updates to reveal one settings page as is the case here.

Moral of the story, update first on test sites, then wait.

    Hi @sean-h,

Could you please try to disable and re-enable Memcached service and confirm if the issue is resolved?

It appears there is a cache service which is interfering with the update process. Quick fix is to disable the SG Optimizer plugin and re-enable it. Still if you can provide us with an URL to a website where the problem is still present it will be of help.

    Thank you for your cooperation!

@elenachavdarova Turning memcache off and on and also flushing it, repeatedly, did not help. The issue being persistent on all live and staging sites in my hosting account, and 2 others in separate accounts I collaborate on.

What did help was de-activating and re-activating after updating. But, we should not have to manually do this as I thought plugins were automatically de-activated and re-activated while being updated, because last time I checked, you can’t update an active plugin. Same like apps on your phone or computer.

Anyhow, the issue seems to be ‘solved’, sort of.

What also works is manually de-activating the plugin, updating it, then re-activating it. Same story across all the sites I manage which are hosted on Siteground. I have no idea if this problems exists on other hosts.

But, thank you very much for splitting up the database optimisation options, that’s exactly what I was looking for. I want all of them, except deleting post revisions. That I limit to 15 in wp-config.php then manually delete in phpMyAdmin when I’m 100% sure I won’t be needing them anymore.

Thank you for your update, @sean-h!

We have just released a new version of the plugin which fixes the above mentioned issue without need of disabling the plugin.

I am glad you like the update in the feature.

    Best Regards,
    Elena
