    Hi!

I’m using WordPress 4.9.4 running the Avada theme. If I use any shortcodes ([gigpress_shows] or [gigpress_upcoming]) all I get is the white screen of death. The Gigpress widget on the side column works but there is nothing to click on for more information.

I also tried using the shortcodes in a text box on the side column and that also causes the white screen of death. I use “The Events Calendar” on this site also, can this be causing the issues? I take the shortcode out and the page works fine, I don’t get it…Help!!!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Oh! Also when I use any shortcodes on that page, it causes it to freeze up.

    Sorry to hear that, @clevelandseoguy.

Are you able to temporarily enable WP_DEBUG and, if you do this, do you see any error messages you can share?

Additionally, are you able to do some troubleshooting and (preferably on a test or staging site) deactivate all other plugins except for GigPress and switch to a default, unmodified theme such as Twenty Seventeen … and does the problem still occur? If this resolves things, reactivate everything else one step at a time and see if you can identify the seat of the conflict.

Let us know how you get on!

I think you might have misinterpreted my request ??

Can you read this article about enabling WP_DEBUG and then make that change (it involves adding or changing a line in your wp-config.php file)? Once you’ve done this, please try to recreate the ‘white screen of death’.

This time, you should see extra information (error messages) on the screen. I’d love to know what they are ??

    Hey there,

Since this thread has been inactive for a while, I’m going to go ahead and mark it as resolved. Don’t hesitate to create a new thread any time you help again!

    Ed ??
