• On activation the plugin throws a fatal error of some sort and the only way to re-enable access to the Admin area (of any sites in the network, including the primary and network Admins) is to delete or rename the folder of the plugin in ../wp-content/plugins/ via FTP.

Please enable WP_DEBUG on your site (docs) and share the error here so I can see if it’s possible to fix. It’s most probably a plugin conflict as it is working for plenty of others on 3.6+.

@jan I posted in the review section, because I believe it is essential that potential users will know that this plugin could wreak havoc on their site. Something that may be out of their reach to solve.

Mine at that point was, in fact, a review, not a request for assistance.

By the way, I notified of the issue three weeks ago.

I’m using an other plugin now, but for what I remember it was the only plugin activated. I made few tests, in local and online, and on a fresh installation of WordPress 3.6 (multisite enabled).

There was no way to get a debug message defining WP_DEBUG, ‘cos the site just went blank. It became also impossible to access to the Admin area. The only solution I found was to delete the plugin via FTP (or rename its folder).

Thank you for a free plugin, but if it can potentially cause this kind of issue, I would recommend a fix as soon as possible. Or provide a clear way to get out of troubles for the ones who may fall.

Beside, I posted also on the dedicated support forum. Three weeks ago as well.

So far, it has been ignored, as you can see. Unfortunately I bet we would agree that we’re not speaking about a minimal issue here.

I repeat, I’m grateful to the ones who contributes to the WP community. But folks, as for my personal experience this plugin can put out of game entire networks. So, please, have a more timely reaction.

There is nothing I can do without an error message – I can’t reproduce this and no one else has reported it.

Add WP_DEBUG to your wp-config.php as explained in the docs (via FTP if need be) and the error message will be printed on the screen.

Hello again, Brent. And thanks for your reply.

I always have WP_DEBUG defined as true in my development, so I can see all errors. And I don’t step into production without having *all of them* fixed.

Unfortunately in the case of your plugin there were no error messages. The screen went blank. WordPress stopped to work way before to get any debug notice.

I’m not the only one. Here an other case:

[…] Find another alternative plugin. This plugin is not “safe” (from an industry standards point of view) to use. I am unable to test it on XAMPP – produces a blank white page When trying to access the testing site and before even getting to being able to login […]

So, as you can see, I’m not the only one to have experienced the same issue.

I sincerely wish you to find out where the problem is.

    Best,
    Carlo
