White screen of death in www version only

  • I’m having an odd problem all of a sudden. The simple url version of my site (desktoppub.com) works fine. But when I add www to the url, I get the white screen of death. I thought this might be a DNS issue, but when I check my server zone file, I see a cname for www that points correctly.

    Adding to the confusion: The site URL in the database is desktoppub.com. If I change that to https://www.desktoppub.com, I can now see the www version, but not the simple desktoppub.com version.

    I have tried disabling plugins (via FTP) — no luck.

    And in either case, I can’t get into my WordPress admin.
