White screen of death from re-write settings (for pretty URL’s)?

    Hey Guys and Gals!

    I feel like I’ve searched high and low on the good old interweb, but haven’t been able to find any answers.

    We changed the url rewrite in the settings tab so we could edit/modify the page urls. You know to make them look a little nicer instead of the post identifier (url.com?=2099blahblahblah)?

    Now I get a white screen of death! Oh nooo..

    So I disabled all the plugins via ftp by renaming the plugins folder to plugins-old.. still nothing.

    Disabled the theme active theme folder by naming that to activetheme-old and still nothing…

    Anyone interested in take a peak? I’ve set the site to debug True, but haven’t been able to find any trouble shooting for these issues.

    Any help is appreciated, and as a newb here on the forum I’ve probly said waaay to much. Thanks!!

    What version of WordPress are you on?
    Using FTP, try and rename .htaccess file and test

    Thanks @luckychingi,

    We are using WordPress 4.4.8.

    Unfortunately, Abaco hosting from yahoo will not allow me to rename the .htaccess, or edit the .htaccess file.

    Can you modify the .htaccess?

    No, Yahoo doesn’t allow us to edit the .htaccess file.
