After creating a clean WP installation at WP Engine to try out “Real Estate Web Builder” I added the Total theme, its plugins and created a child theme.

Then I installed the Placester plugin from inside WP. But when I activate it, my site dies and I am left staring at a white screen of death. No errors. Nothing but a complete white out.

I restored my site from backup and tried again, but it failed the exact same way.

I have a video of the fail and 2nd trial if you want it. Send me an email and I’ll send you a link to it.

It’s too bad. The video looked promising.

    Hi Jim,

Sorry for the delay in responding, and sorry about your experience with our plugin.

Fatal incompatibility with a few other plugins and themes has been reported to us in the past. The solution is usually a simple change to a bit of our initialization code (having to do with the order in which we access certain WP filters and actions, relative to those others). Whenever possible, we incorporate the fixes into the released version.

We would definitely appreciate it if you contact us at [email protected] with that link and with any other details about your WordPress installation that you can provide.

Contacted the author about the plugin. Duplicated the site on WP Engine for them to access. Sent FTP details for the site at their request. They claimed that they could not log in to site using FTP credentials that I use to log in.

    Never heard from them again.

That’s a shame. This plugin had great potential.

    Hi Jim,

Sorry that we weren’t able to find the conflict that was giving you trouble. We do our best, but it’s especially difficult for us to help resolve these kinds of issues when the other plugins and theme in use are commercial products that we do not have available for testing.

Our plugin does work with all of the recent versions of WordPress, including 4.1.2, but unfortunately not always when co-installed with other software.
