• I have installed WordPress in a subfolder called blog. After having created a MySQL database and properly renaming and editing the wp-congig.php file, I navigate to the blog folder on my server (using FileZilla) and copy the URL out of the address bar. I then open a new tab in Windows Explorer and type in http./ followed by a CTRL V to paste the FileZilla path followed by typing /install.php. The finished URL looks like this: http.//mydomain.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php

When I hit Enter to run the install.php file, Windows Explorer does the spinny-circle thing and the progress bar at the bottom of the page appears; however, after the progress bar finishes there is only a white page. There is not text or graphics. No error message. No flickering of text flashing across the screen. Just a white screen.

I’ve verified my edit of the wp-config.php file against a wp-config.php file that I installed on another site (and that one worked as prescribed in the WordPress install docs). I thought maybe my database was the issue, so I created a new database and re-edited the wp-config.php file to address it. Still the same result: blank, white page.

I’m not the most technically adept; however, I have installed WordPress on two other sites and both installations worked as simply as described on the WordPress site. My experience to date has been that WordPress is a wonderfully simple and robust program to work with.

Also, I should mention that the web host doesn’t use Local Host. I have used their correct Host name for this installation. The two other successful WordPress installations I mentioned were both on sites hosted by this service. Not sure what to make of this issue. I’d appreciate any help that may be offered.

    Thanks,
    -Mike.
