White screen for dashboard and Pull Parser error on phone

    Last time I made a post (4 weeks ago) everything was fine. I have made no changes to my blog since then but today when trying to log in to make a post all I get is a white page where my dashboard should be. Note: the blog is still up and appears to be operating normally but I cannot access the back end. I have tried to login on both IE Explorer and Chrome with no success. I also tried logging in on my phone. I cannot view the dashboard there either but it did let me go to the new post screen only it will not publish the post, will simply save as a draft on my phone. The error message I get on my phone when trying to access the dashboard or publish the post is:
    org.xmlpull.v1XmlPullParserException: unexpected type (position: TEXT?@1:1 in java.io.InputStreamReader@47d582c8) Note on my phone I can view my stats for some reason. Can’t do this on my browser.

    And I apologize but I am guessing on the WP version as I can only view it in the source code and did not think it was complete. I know it is not the most current as a couple months ago I was going to update and I couldn’t until my I got my internet provider to update some files and I hadn’t had a chance to do that yet.

    Any help you can give me would be most appreciated. I am not too tech savy so am not even sure what direction to go. Thank you very much.

  • Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    Turns out the problem was due to my PHP server being low on memory. My IP host increased the memory levels and voila, I can now access my dashboard. Thanks for your help!
