The plugin was updated to 4.7 today which caused a white screen. I turned on debugging and this is the error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /home4/westlane/public_html/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/common/src/Tribe/PUE/Notices.php on line 237

I am using the latest WordPress and the Nirvana theme version 1.5.0.3. Disabling all other plugins and switching to the 2016 theme didn’t resolve the error. The site is hosted on HostMonster.

I am disabling the plugin until I know of a way to fix this. Thank you. ??

    So sorry, @megabit81.

We’re checking into this – certainly looks like a legitimate oversight on our part – and will try to get a fix out as quickly as we can.

It would seem to be a problem that will only happen with older PHP versions, so if it so happens that your web host let’s you switch to a more recent version (and of the currently supported PHP versions should be just fine) that’s another way to get around this in the meantime.

Thank you for the quick fix. The new version combined with changing the host to PHP 5.6 resolved all issues.

Fantastic, thank you for confirming and our sincere apologies for the disruption.

I too have experienced the white screen of death. I can log into my dashboard, but when I go to create a new post or click on an old post, it goes to a blank white screen.

I am not sure if I recently downloaded or updated anything, they do it automatically.

I tried deactivating all plugins and it did not change, I tried switching themes, and that didn’t help either.

    Help!

    Samantha
